How to Take Care of Your Acne? 

What is the most complex physical change that could happen to a teenager? Indeed, the first thing that strikes the mind is acne. When you go through puberty, your body changes and hormonal imbalance creates acne/pimples/zits. 

Taking care of your acne is easy. You either wear an acne patch, use makeup, or pack ice on it. Either way, it will clear away all the impurities and make your skin smoother. 

You can even prevent pimples by washing your face twice a day. But, how do you take care of the pimples already present? Here are some ways to take care of your acne-prone skin.

To use such patches, you need to clean the pimple and the area around first. Then, you can use a sterilised tool to lance the zit if it has a white head. Once done, you can apply the patch directly on the pimple and keep it on for 20 minutes. 

#2. Use Ice to Soothe the Skin 

Duration: 60 seconds to 120 seconds 

Ice is the best way to soothe your inflamed skin when you have acne. Some believe that using ice could eventually stop the pimples from recurring. Indeed, the cooling method can go a long way if you have severe acne flares on your skin. 

The first step will involve cleansing your skin, after which you need to use a fresh towel or cloth and wrap the ice. Then, you can use the cold compress in a circular motion for a few minutes and remove it. 

#3. Use Makeup to Cover Up 

Duration: Under 60 seconds 

Putting a dab of concealer or foundation will hide any blemish – Even the most annoying pimple. You can use a green colour corrector or concealer to hide the acne redness. 

If you have light and small acne’s, you can apply something that matches your skin colour. Doing these will smoothly cover your acne-prone skin. You no longer need to take drastic measures to get rid of the pimples.

What if using an acne patch, ice, or makeup does not work? Then, look for holistic approaches. Doing so will not only provide your skin with a healthy essence but will also eradicate acne formation. 

Follow these to give your skin an extra boost: 

  • Massage your face with aloe vera and essential oils 
  • Get extra sleep or at least 8 hours 
  • Wash impurities from your skin 
  • Change your diet and focus on vegetarian food 
  • Drink more water, at least 7 to 10 cups a day

These will holistically strengthen your mental strength and rebuild your outer defenses against acne.

Acne-prone skin requires extra maintenance to keep it healthy. Apart from washing it twice a day, you need to soothe the pimples and reduce the redness. 

There are numerous dermatologically-tested treatments like cortisone shots or spot treatment. However, the best way to take care of acne is by:
